Application Deployment
Applications are the life blood of any business. Ensuring they are correctly configured and available,
plus the ongoing deployment of updates, desk side visits, as well as new applications can
be very time consuming. All of this draws your staff and resources away from
more productive work.
How Embrionic can help
Initially we can discuss your company's application lifecycle and how it currently works. We can then plan a clear way forward and how to
apply your requirements to an improved process. Please read our Whitepaper on
Application Lifecycle and
Packaging Methodology for more information and recommendations.
Embrionic can also improve this situation by providing application packaging services. Our consultants will recommend what
application settings your organisation requires where necessary and will then produce MSI or
executable packages that can be deployed using your organisations current application deployment tools or we can help you implement one.
Embrionic uses a number of industry standard packaging tools but recommend
Wise Package Studio Professional.
When we package an application we provide a sign off ready package that has
been fully tested and documented enabling you to manage and maintain it in the
future. We will also run the Packaging project for you and can provide a test regime and
recommended lab environment to ensure that end users can run their applications without any configuration
issues.
Finally we can advise you on the best methods of delivering these
applications to your users and have delivered projects that use our own Embrionic directdeploy™, Active
Directory, Systems Management Server, LANDesk and Alitiris. Please read our Whitepaper on
Application Delivery Options for more information and recommendations
on some of these.

Why not to Outsource or Offshore
Many organisations have considered out-sourcing their packaging off site or
even to another country. We believe this to be a false economy because:
Applications are packaged in a stand alone environment and cannot be
tested against the customer environment, therefore the customer still has to
handle 50% of the task
The customer needs to document everything before handing the application over to be packaged or the package
will not work correctly. A large portion of the work therefore still needs to be carried out by the customer
Any applications that use back end systems will not be tested during the packaging process
Consultants will not be on site to provide advice and guidance or troubleshoot development issues
