What is Powerwise?

Powerwise is an offering from Embrionic that allows organisations to centrally manage the power settings of Windows PCs. By using Powerwise an organisation can minimise the energy usage of their PC estate and save hundreds or thousands of pounds a year.


Key Features:

  • Centrally manage power profiles for each computer
    Run the management console from anywhere on the network to manage the Powerwise profiles and computers, and see in real-time the power state of a computer and its devices.

  • Profile schedules
    Tailor profiles according to the time of day and days of the week, and implement more aggressive savings schemes during out of office hours. Scheme changes allow profiles to reflect the demands and usage of computers in your organisation.

  • Control power
    Powerwise profiles provide control over the monitor, hard disk, processor, hibernate and shutdown.

  • Execute immediate or scheduled wakeup & shutdown
    Run wakeup & shutdown tasks on individual or groups of computers immediately or at a scheduled time. This enables you to turn on computers to execute out of hours updates and maintenance and then shutdown all computers again.

  • Reporting
    Run reports to show Powerwise usage and use the data to calculate savings. This also allows you to see how successful your profiles settings are being and update accordingly.

  • User notifications
    Inform users when power saving is going to occur and allow the user to cancel. Optional per PC information can be displayed to show the user how much they are contributing in terms of energy savings.
