It is has been developed from the highly successful Microsoft Solutions Framework and blended with Prince2 to meet the demands of our customers as well as our own consultants and project managers. It follows a process and milestone based structure which can be tailored to suit specific customer needs.

Conception

The Conception phase of Embrionics project methodology is all about ensuring that the correct technologies are being applied to their fullest. We believe there should be clear business reasoning and benefit behind all strategic decisions. The business requirements need to be clearly defined and business case constructed. The project board needs to be defined, normally made up of the key decision makers from all the involved parties who have authority to initiate the project.

Initiation

The Initiation phase of the Embrionics project methodology is all about defining the structures to ensure a successful and efficient project. It is important to make sure that the foundations of the project are laid securely. A project is a finite process with a start and end date, all parties need to be clear on the fundamental reasoning behind the project. Why is it needed? What is it intending to achieve? How is it to be achieved? Who is responsible for what? There needs to be a genuine commitment from the project board and project team. A Project initiation document (PID) is normally produced during this phase.

Discovery

The Discovery phase of Embrionics project methodology is all about capturing information required to define the work to be undertaken. To assess all the risks and the impact they might have on the project outcome. The work to pull together all the building blocks needed to ensure a successful outcome to the project is undertaken during this phase.

Plan

The Plan phase of Embrionics project methodology is all about assessing the work defined during Initiation and Discovery and planning how to execute these tasks. The risks that have been highlighted need to be balanced with the goals that need to be achieved. This phase runs along side the Discovery phase since as information is captured it needs to be incorporated into the project plans.

Build

The Build phase of Embrionics project methodology is all about putting together and implementing the plans and tasks that have been defined in the earlier phases. The ongoing testing and delivery of a proof of concept, where needed, occurs here. During this phase any detailed documentation and knowledge transfer that needs to occur is performed.

Deploy

The Deploy phase of Embrionics project methodology is all about delivering the final goal of the project. In this phase there may be a pilot stage before the final deployment; this depends on decisions made during the earlier phases.

Manage and Control

The Mange and Control aspects of Embrionics project methodology run throughout the project lifecycle. They are concerned with ensuring that all the required output is meeting the defined quality criteria. That what is being carried out is to schedule and within predefined parameters, such as cost and resource levels. It is all about reviewing progress, quality of output and overseeing the issues and risks that occur during a project. Within this element we follow an effective yet simple control loop.
