Design

Getting the design right is a major factor in ensuring any project success. In order to achieve this, the current infrastructure needs to be reviewed and documented. This enables the design team to map the requirements into the design and identify the migration path to the new environment.

Embrionic can help evaluate a customers existing infrastructure to identify what needs to be updated or modified and help you understand the interoperability issues moving forward.

Whether it is a high level or detailed design you are looking for, Embrionic can provide a number of design service offerings from bespoke or kick start design requests right through to end to end projects.

Check out our QStart programme initiative - a series of interactive sessions, facilitated by a member of the Embrionic Project Management group, working with your staff to deliver a high level design for a particular technology area. Those currently available include:

QStart for Active Directory
QStart for Exchange

Discovery

The importance of obtaining a clear understanding of both business and administrative requirements becomes clear as we move into the Discovery stage. They form an essential part of the design process. Having clear and concise requirements ensure that key elements in the design process are not overlooked or indeed ignored. What could be worse you are nearing the end of your project and someone suddenly says What about this? if only this was known at the start then maybe the design could have been improved or implementation costs reduced significantly.

Risk Analysis

All projects can be said to be bringing about change and by its very nature change brings risk to any undertaking. It is essential that during Discovery all risks are assessed along with the impact that they may have on the outcome of the project. No project should ever be undertaken without ensuring a full risk analysis is performed. A key part of assessing risk is to have clear understanding of the amount of risk that the project board and management are willing to tolerate. This risk tolerance is dependant on the perceived importance of each risk assessed. Embrionic are able to assist customers in ensuring that a consistent approach to risk management is fully embedded in the project process. Failure to identify and manage these risks can have a dramatic impact on the project and subsequently to the business!

Plan

With any project once the requirements and scope have been defined during the projects earlier stages it is essential that the work to be carried out is assessed and detailed plans of how to execute these tasks formulated. The risks that have been highlighted need to balance against the goals that need to be achieved. Embrionics Management and consultants are well versed in structured planning and documentation of the information that has been and is being captured as this stage progresses along side the Discovery processes.

The planning of a project is not a trivial exercise, it is vital to the success of a project. Without effective planning the outcome of projects, both simple and complex cannot be predicted in terms of scope, quality, risk, timescale and cost. Poorly planned projects cause frustration, waste and rework.
